South Seas Resort-Captiva Island, FL

The Marina Jack crew has arrived, and we are having a blast.  We are excited about coming back here in July with the kids and grandkids!  The pics tell the story, and you can click on a pic to enlarge:

Pelican Cove day 2

Victor and Diane aboard Dreamcatcher III joined us and had us for dinner.  Prime Rib and the works!   This is a very protected anchorage, with lots of boats.  The weather has been perfect.

Pelican Cove

Moondance is joining a flotilla from Marina Jack headed to Captiva Inland’s South Seas Resort.  The trip was organized by a Sarasota boat broker and the marina staff.  We arrived Sarasota Tuesday night, and left mid-day Wednesday.  We exited Big Sarasota Pass, and came in at Boca Grande Pass.  A beautiful day and we saw turtles, rays, tarpon and a huge shark (big as the dinghy).  We anchored in Pelican Cove on Cayo Costa Island.  There is a nice state park with access to the beach and a dinghy dock.  After a stroll on the beach this morning, we are back aboard waiting for friends from Marina Jack to join us at anchor.  Will head to South Seas tomorrow.

Maybe Bill knows this gull?

Pretty much the death penalty if one disturbs the turtle eggs!
