Bimini bound.

We enjoyed a calm crossing from Marco Island to Marathon.  We are presently at the Faro Blanco Marina in Marathon.  Alexis and I came here on Tuga Gaidry’s boat many years ago and had a great time.  That marina was destroyed by one of the past hurricanes, and now is rebuilt and part of a Hyatt Hotel complex.  Very nice and expensive-$4 bucks a foot per night.  Tomorrow (Thursday) looks like another great weather day, so we plan to jump to Bimini from here.  It is 110 nautical miles, so will be a long day.  We had planned to go to Key Largo for a night or two and it is a much shorter jump from there.  But the weather gods must be reckoned with, so we jump tomorrow if the weather is as predicted.  One good thing, we will enter the Gulf Stream (a river of current off the coast) and should get a 3-4 knot boost as we will be going north with the Gulf Stream.

Departing Marco Island in a calm Gulf.

Boat builders place essential items in the hardest places to access.  Alexis had to contort into this hatch to change a hose clamp.  I gave instructions......

Serenity at Faro Blanco.

There was a Marlow rendezvous at the marina.  These are some of the Marlows (high end yachts).

Note how calm it is!  Hopefully we get one more day of no wind.
