Alice Town

We spent the day touring Alice Town, the main town on Bimini.  Tourism is the big driver here, and the slow economy has taken its toll, although the town has a few small grocery stores and shops.  The people are very friendly, and we walked the entire town and were treated nicely.  The marinas in the Bahamas charge for water usage, and here at Browns it is .35 cents a gallon-low for the Bahamas.  The water is R/O and of good quality.  We filter it before filling out tanks, and have another filter for drinking water.  Alexis bribed the dock master to put on the Saints game, and is drowning her sorrows at the bar now.  Tomorrow, if the weather predictions are correct, we will head to the Berry Islands, and anchor out a few days.  The Berrys are just north of Nassau, the most populated island in the Bahamas.  See this link for a map of the Bahamas: Link.  We will not have internet, so will not be posting for a while.  We do receive texts, and thanks for all the messages from home!

The main drag.  Golf carts are the primary mode of transportation-and they drive on the left!

Gilligan's Island?

I presume Dame Dumont is still extant.
